To
get the shock all the way out, we need more clearance. By using
a floor jack under the lower control arm, you can raise the suspension
and tire up off the ground to give you just a few more inches of
height for the shock to come out at an angle.
(SAFETY
TIP: This is a good time to use a jack stand ! )
You
can see the shock is now out in the picture. Notice the two small
studs on the lower control arm where the shock bolted on. You can
also see the tire is just a couple of inches off the ground, that's
all that was needed. (no need to jack it up a foot or two).
The
old shock is lying on the ground. Leave the jack where it is.
On
to the next step.
